Modern KinAMIG018 / 02/04/2013
CD LP DIGI
Modern Kin's self-titled debut is a fiery ode to reinvention and freedom. Janet Weiss (Sleater-Kinney, Quasi) was invited to produce the album in an effort to help create from the ashes of Drew Grow's previous band the Pastors' Wives. Modern Kin has a more focused sound as a three-piece, with more attention to rhythmic interplay between bass and drums. The album has a lot of surprises as well, thanks in part to Dave Fridmann (Flaming Lips, Spoon) mixing two of the tracks.
